OUR MISSIONThe Every Mother Project provides support and education to professionals in order to reduce barriers that women with perinatal emotional complications face when accessing care. We believe that every mother has the right to comprehensive support services during pregnancy and postpartum.
We work to make this right a reality for every mother. #supportingmomstogether |
Who we are
Every Mother Project started as 4 friends and colleagues gathering to support each other. We are birth doulas, postpartum doulas, lactation counselors, childbirth educators, group facilitators, a coach, a nurse, and a therapist. We have degrees in public health, mental health counseling, social work, and nursing. Between us, we have over 50 years of experience working in women's health.
We have spoken with countless women who are struggling with emotional complications in pregnancy and early parenthood and have helped them navigate barriers to receiving care and support.
Recognizing the need for systemic change, we decided to take action.

What makes this collaboration unique?
The four of us have a range of professional experience: we have supported women in intimate settings such as their homes, birthing rooms, and new mothers' groups; we have also worked with women as mental health professionals in hospitals, out-patient clinics, community agencies, and private practice. Our unique perspective encompasses a strong understanding of the many ways women work with health professionals in the perinatal period-- as well as how trained mental health professionals work with women who struggle with emotional complications. We draw upon our diverse professional backgrounds and skills to best support professionals like you.
